Hola from Logrono in Spain. I am on day 5 of the Camino Trail... having a wonderful time.... averaging 25-30 kms per day ...and experiencing the spectacular scenery of the pyrenees in France and Spain.

Meeting lots of fellow ´pilgrims´´ who are very willing to share information and befriend you! last night we had 6 nationalities at our table for dinner .... we managed to have a great time....even if the language was sometimes limited.

I started the Trail in St Jean ped a Port in Southern France... in the Pyrenees... baptism of fire on first day.... 24kms in an uphill direction across the route that Napoleon took with his army éons ago!

It was raining cats and dogs at 6.30 when i left for the 8hr hike....fortunately was adopted by three gorgeous italian men who were my protectors for three days. I was the age of their children so it was like having 3 more´papa´s´...who were very wise and taught me lots about climbing mountains as well as providing great company and amusement.

The scenery has gradually been changing from the mountains to the plains. The colours are wonderful and very rich....great for the soul.

The Correos post offices in Spain look forward to my frequent visits to off-load more ´stuff´... i think now that i am really travelling with just the basics! In Pamplona the post office gave me a t-shirt with a big stamp on it for my custom. hopefully my goods will reach Australia and new york so i can collect on arrival!
