The trail usually takes 35 days averaging 24 kms a day from Saint Jean de Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostella. This walk is one of the ancient pilgrimages and I first learnt about it in Brazil. i have a great guide book which I purchased in Findhorn (it recommends only 10kg in the backpack) ....it will be a challenge but one I am looking forward to with relish. It is not often that you have the luxury of time to go on a walk such as this. I will be keeping a diary and when I complete the trail I will update with adventures.
